"I am Fanni Nagy, a Hungarian jewelry designer, applied artist, and maker. I earned my metalsmithing diploma from the Art School of Buda and completed both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. I have also attended masterclasses, including those with Manuel Vilhena and Caroline Broadhead, which further shaped my approach to contemporary jewelry. My work has been featured in exhibitions such as Shine! – The Time of Jewelry at the Hungarian National Museum, my solo show How Was It? at Gallery Déryné, the collaborative exhibition I’m Here With You / Future’s Nostalgia at Tincal Lab in Porto, Things Unsaid with Pistachios Gallery and Precious Collective in Chicago,
and the Legnica Silver Festival WOW Effect! in Poland, to name a few.
My jewelry explores themes of transience and personal stories, creating wearable art that is meaningful for those who wear it."

"The loss of a close friend drew me to the theme of transience, which continues to inspire my work.
I create jewelry inspired by nature, everyday life, and fleeting moments, using both traditional goldsmith techniques
and experimental methods to shape metals, stones, and other materials into unique textures and forms.
My pieces are meant to feel personal and wearable, capturing subtle beauty and telling quiet stories.
I aim for my creations to be more than just jewelry—to be meaningful objects that bring joy to those who wear them."

'Future’s Nostalgia' #2 brooch 2024
Time never stands still, and change is constant. My creation aims to capture the essence of transience, life, and transformation through the symbolism of dried flowers and crystals. The front of the brooches, crafted from crystallized eucalyptus leaves, represents the changes we experience throughout our lives, capturing the delicate balance between growth and decay. On the reverse side, a silhouette evokes memories, reminders of moments that shape us. As the brooch is worn, the colors fade, the crystals crack and dull, and the form of the piece gradually changes—mirroring the transformation of our lives over time. The silhouettes are meant to resonate with anyone, telling stories while inviting wearers to reflect on their own experiences, evoking memories and reminding us of the universal nature of change and the quiet melancholy of impermanence, a shining despair.

'Future’s Nostalgia' #6 I Want to Break Free brooch 2025
"With time, we grow up. We move through the days of teenagehood, adulthood, and the everyday challenges life throws at us, and before we know it, time has flown by. We grow old, yet somehow still feel like we're only sixteen. We wish we could turn back the time to the days when our mom sang us to sleep, when we could dream without limits and believe we could achieve anything. We were free. But as time passes, we forget our dreams, our desires, and get caught up in the routine of simply going from one day to the next. My creation aims to capture the essence of transience, life, and transformation through symbolism. The front of the brooch, crafted from crystallized eucalyptus leaves, represents changes we experience throughout our lives, capturing the delicate balance between growth and decay. On the back side, a silhouette evokes memories, reminders of moments that shape us. As the brooch is worn, the colors fade, the crystals crack and the form of the piece gradually changes—mirroring the transformation of our lives over time. The silhouette is meant to resonate with anyone, telling stories while inviting wearers to reflect on their own experiences and reminding us of the universal nature of change and the quiet melancholy of impermanence.”

Artist Fanni Nagy 'Meet me in the Woods' pendants 2025, copper, enamel and cord
'Meet Me in the Woods' pendants jewelry collection 2025
The brooches are designed as statement pieces, while the pendants serve as more accessible versions of the designs. Who didn’t collect bits of wood or interesting stones as a child? Back then, even the smallest find could feel like treasure. Children have a natural way of noticing the little things—details most of us stop paying attention to as we grow older. With this collection, I want to bring that sense of wonder back. Each piece is made from found driftwood, shaped by nature and completely unique. I add my own touch through craft, enhancing what’s already there. You have to look from every angle—there’s always something hidden, something unexpected. It’s a reminder to slow down, stay curious, and appreciate the details we often overlook.
