I’m a nurse by profession, but I’ve always had a deep connection with art and crafts. In 2018, while attending a cardiology congress in Vienna, Austria, I stumbled upon a glassblowing workshop. There, guided by Hilmar, a craftsman with years of experience, I had my first encounter with this fascinating material.
Glass captivated me instantly: solid and fragile to the touch, yet transformable—almost magical—when heated. It becomes a viscous fluid, like caramel, able to withstand tension and twisting. I fell in love with the craft, and when I returned to Chile, I knew I wanted to pursue it. In 2019, I set up my own workshop and have been exploring the possibilities of glass ever since. In 2023, I studied silversmithing, which became a turning point in my work—it began to take on a clearer, more personal identity. That’s how Prometea was born: my contemporary jewelry brand where I combine mixed techniques, merging glass sculpting with traditional silversmithing. Today, I have six permanent collections that express this union of material, craft, and personal exploration.
