Where is your inspiration coming from ?
My inspiration coming from different ways: latinamerican's barroco, the feminist activism. But materials, the materials tell me what I must do.
What are you trying to communicate in particular with your artwork?
I love old techniques. I want to show and resignificate that mechanical and handcraft techniques are still alive, that is not only push a button and all is ready, however you must think and pacefull your mind for obtein a piece. There wasn't nothing and you create something. That impress me and i try to communicate this to others.
Which material you prefer to use and why?
Textiles. Maybe because I`m fashion designer.
How much value do you give to researching material for your creations?
Too much. I live my life experimenting about differentes textil materials. It´s a milagre that I can finish something, because one experimentation take me from one place to another.
Is it more important for you the process, or the final artwork itself?
I prefer the process. When the piece are finish, I´m thinking in the next one.
Is there an artist you prefer and why?
A lot, but I can tell you the most influence in my life: Alfons Mucha. The first artist than I knew his name when I was a little girl. All that I do wants to seem to Mucha. I admire all the movement Arts and Crafts.
Have you ever thought to collaborate with other artists , or you like to work on your own?
Both. I like work alone, but when my friends have a interest work to offer me, I want to stay there too.
Where do you feel you are at with this last collection?
I'm felling that this is my more structured collection. A sober pallet of color and only one focus with a research that take me a long time and that was changing from a year to other.
What have you discovered of yourself, are you satisfied?
I growed up. I found my self with my spiritual world and I love all pieces.
Two words to describe your last artwork collection.
Flesh and nets.
