Inspired by literary metaphors, art historical contexts, and ecological philosophy,
her practice explores symbiotic relationships within the framework of the Anthropocene.
Through mediums such as video, poetry, and jewellery, she investigates the boundaries between matter and spirit, order and chaos, life and death. Adopting an almost archaeological approach, she brings dust, soil, glass, and pebbles into dialogue, constructing a visual epic on the cyclical transformation of matter in the universe. Her accolades include the Cartier Scholarship, the Marzee Graduate Prize, the MullenLowe NOVA Award, and recognition as a Bright New Gems winner.

From Dust, To Dust takes dust as both material and metaphor—at once tangible and close to nothingness, a “breath of matter” at the threshold between the physical and the spiritual. The series reflects on the boundaries between matter and spirit, order and chaos, life and death.Through the symbol of the pebble, it narrates cosmic cycles and the transformation of matter, revealing the poetry embedded in life’s rhythms. Soil becomes both origin and end—a boundary where cycles converge. Between earth and kiln, in transparency and silence, the work creates a field where entropy and negentropy intertwine, linking the fleeting existence of the individual with the eternal order of the universe.

Pebbles, though ordinary, carry immense complexity.
Their particles were born from the Big Bang and supernovae, later drawn into Earth’s gravity during the solar system’s formation. They traveled through cosmic winds, mountains, and seas before converging in a pebble—only a fleeting encounter in geological time. In the future, they may transform into sedimentary rock, fossil, or drift back into space as cosmic dust, seeding new stars and planets. Thus, the pebble becomes both vessel and witness, allowing us to step beyond individual limits and glimpse the infinite cycles of matter and life.
Through a dialogue between dust, soil, glass, and stone, the series weaves a meditation on the universe, time, and existence—inviting viewers to reconsider their relationship with nature, temporality, and the Other.

These works are made using my unique kiln-forming glass bubble technique, which seals natural
soil and rock powder inside glass bubbles and then transforms them into pebbles through cutting,
grinding, and polishing processes. The entire project uses recycled glass and recycled silver in response
to the global call for sustainable development.
