As a visual artist and jeweller, my work is guided by my experiences in natural landscapes, where time is reflected in geological structures and cyclical processes, and in the life that flows within them. The notion of temporality, as reflected in the unique architecture of these landscapes, reveals existences spanning millions of years alongside ephemeral processes — like life itself. My aim is to translate this awareness of temporality and to explore the concept of time encoded in parallel existences. Guided by these questions, my work interprets contrasts and parallels in constructions recreated with diverse materials.
Light and shadow. The core of my work is translating these contrasts and parallels into structures where forms, textures
and transparencies manifest notions of permanence.

Artist Clara Cisterna
Clara Cisterna is a visual artist, jewelry and geologist based in Tucumán, at the Argentina northwestern. Her practice as a geologist led she to explore different landscapes, mainly the andean Puna. These experiences, seeing how life interacts with the environment, both entangled, inspire the shapes that she creates. The Puna’s dessert linked to her personal questions about living and aging, about Earth's natural geological processes, are the core of her work. She tends to express the tensions among geological and biological time, parallel processes in which different ways of living unfold. She builds pieces with materials where textures and transparencies evoke the ephemeral process of living, the gap between beings' time and Earths’ time.
