"Originally from the UK, I started making jewellery in Athens 30 years ago, then continued at London Guildhall University, followed by prolonged study periods in Africa. Since my return to rural Greece in 2004, my immersion in nature has infiltrated my work. These pieces are a celebration of the asymmetry found in nature. The myriad of textures and shapes of pods, flowers, twigs and leaves fill our senses and contribute to the beauty we see every day. I have tried to recreate this intense richness using casting, fusing, forming of silver and gold, adding splashes of colour with tiny high quality gemstones. They can be worn as stand-alone pieces, or in some cases they work well in juxtaposition. Tactile and extrusive, they demand attention to their tiny, unexpected and sometimes imbalanced details, just as they occur in nature." Anna Butcher
