"I am a fine artist from Medellin, Colombia (Universidad de Antioquia, BFA 2014). My work is a series of proposals and tests with objects and object-hood that explores different expressions of matter, its transformation, evolution and adaptations. I produce jewelry and mechanisms reminiscent of the human body
My father is a mechanical engineer and has built machines for jewelry making, airplanes and conducted lots of experiments. Through him, I learned to notice the beauty in his workshop, in the gear assemblies, grease, metals, and systems that transmit and generate energy, force and movement in an efficient manner.
When I finally understood his expression, “What a beautiful motor!”
I knew I would be interested in the sensations that objects can transmit." Andres Caro

"I created jewelry for real life, where a real woman in them can quickly rinse the dishes, go for a walk with the children or have a glass of wine with a friend. That is why, for a long time, I selected the material and shape in order to create not only beautiful, but also durable, comfortable jewelry in tune with the human body.
It is important for me that the author's object does not overshadow the woman, but decorates, reveals the essence, creates a barely perceptible, refined image. I am in love with a woman, in love with porcelain, from this love harmonious forms are born for real life." Anna Kostra
Material description
"Porcelain only seems fragile. It falls into the hands after repeated firing, one of which takes place at a temperature of 1250-1300 ° C. Can the material become brittle after this? NO
Porcelain is particularly durable, its structure is close to bottle glass. Therefore, it is an ideal material for jewelry - textured, sophisticated, durable. Of course, if you drop porcelain on marble or step on it, a thin piece may break, but the light mechanical stresses of everyday life are not afraid of this. But of course, porcelain jewelry is primarily about aesthetics. In my jewelry, I mainly use bone china and real gilding. A special place in the collection is occupied by matte rings, this is biscuit porcelain - porcelain without glaze.
Only porcelain has such a unique matte surface, which is a real tactile pleasure to touch.
Biscuit porcelain is not suitable for making dishes, therefore it has little lime.
But it is widespread in sculpture, and also took an honorable revenge in my collection of jewelry." Anna Kostra

Artist Stefanie Verhoef
Event at the Gallery in Rome
featuring onsite and online the artwork of artist Stefanie Verhoef,
with her unique ring jewelry collection at Mydaybyday Gallery
For this occasion, the artist developed a unique little sextet of six fine 'Offshoot' ring design.
All pieces are one of a kind.
-----------
'Offshoots' is an organic collection based on the idea of a side shoot or branch of a plant.
Plants never grow straight nor the same. They shoot off branches wherever the energy brings it and they never stop doing so. There is so much poetry in flora and fauna and in this collection, I try to capture this poetry.
The base for these rings is always the same; an organic round ring, never a perfect circle but always in balance, with a contemporary single or double claw setting. An offshoot holds the stone in place.
The stone decides how it's set and gives each piece its uniqueness.
Stefanie Verhoef is an artist and goldsmith from Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
She makes contemporary jewellery with a conceptual character. Her designs are defined by a rough edged yet delicate aesthetic. In her work Stefanie is always looking for original and innovative contrasts. It’s an overarching theme in her collections. By looking for unusual opposites and placing them together, both interacting elements can fully show their potential. The contrasts can be found in unconventional stone setting, use of color, material or in the shape itself. All balanced together it characterizes her style. Her collections tell stories of personal observations or fascinations. Stories are endless and so are most of her collections; the designs keep developing and thus a collection keeps growing over time.
