"My work is inspired by the destructive effects of civilization on the natural world, but it aims to communicate a hopeful vision, one in which mankind reconsiders its role on Earth. My pieces illustrate the varied shapes, textures and colors of different landscapes and how these landscapes are being changed by vast amounts of plastic waste. The images of plastic bags tangled in the branches, buried in the soil, floating in the rivers, covering beaches or drifting in the seas are translated into pieces of jewelry. These, in turn, become symbols to raise awareness on careless waste disposal in the hope it helps reverse this situation in the future.
I create jewelry re using plastic to give it a new meaning combining ancient craft with new technologies such as 3d drawings."
